A well-known Café Livadić along with its pastry shop and distinguished open-air terrace is known for numerous cultural and social events that take place in Samobor. Here, throughout the year, you can explore different exhibitions or listen to poetry recitals while drinking your hot chocolate.
Its presence for more than a quarter of century makes it recognizable and a must see place for everyone who visits Samobor.
Café’s design has strongly been influenced by Viennese café’s and the motto behind it is best described as “Although not at home, it feels like home“.
The traditional Livadić dessert is kremšnita (custard slice) which has become a true Samobor brand. The two words: kremšnita and Samobor come as synonyms and do you know why? Simply because the only one true kremšnita is the one you can taste in Samobor.

Story of kremšnita
Story of kremšnita begins in the early years of the 20th century, around 1920, when the “father” of Samobor’s kremšnita – Mr. Đuro Lukačić began working in his brother’s pastry shop on the main Samobor square. While learning his trade in Zagreb he was able to discover and combine few cake recipes from other Zagreb’s confectioners and turn them into one and that is how a kremšnita was born. In 2009 it became Samobor souvenir.
But what is the secret behind the original Samobor’s kremšnita? If you ask us, we will tell you, it’s in arms of our hardworking chefs and their experience.

Alongside our famous and authentic kremšnita, we proudly offer a wide range of cakes, pastries and ice creams. Here, in our standard offer you can try cakes like New York Style Cheesecake, Caramel Banana, Chocolate Passion, Livadić cake, Strawberry Meringue and delicious Strudel. Also, you must try our take on a traditional dish štrukle. Try them and you will most definitely fall in love with them.
